2009 Boicott BMX Camping Jam - Slab City from Obscura Creative Group on Vimeo.
Boicott sent this rad video of his camping jam in California. I want to live in the sunshine.
Saturday, October 3rd, 2009, in what could be called one hell of a wasteland, Boicott BMX put on a rad BMX jam session in an abandoned swimming pool in a place called Slab City. Slab City, which is located a few short miles away from the Salton Sea, is a piece of deserted desert that many squatters call home. Miles and miles and miles away from the general population–and several miles off the main highway–Slab City is simply off the maps–a unchartered wasteland, if you will. There’s absolutely nothing like this place, which made this event that much better.
With the help of the very friendly Slab City folks, Boicott BMX, S&M Bikes, Orange 20 Bike Shop, Fit Bike Company, and Colt 45 pulled off a hell of an event. Free prizes, BBQ food, beer, awesome riding, friends, beer, a Misfits cover band, and beer; if you weren’t at this event, then you seriously missed out.
Also, a word of advice, if you ever trek out to Slab City for a visit or to session this rad pool, we highly recommend acknowledging the “Active bombs in ground” sign a ways down the road. Yeah… We got ourselves a little talkin’ to by some government folks for our ignorance.

Capital BMX has the whole story on this. They’re putting something together this weekend, Sunday, October 18th at 1 pm. to raise some cash to make the Orleans ramps better. This is all going on in Ottawa.
